Terms

Last updated 14 October 2026. PicTrainer is run by Gotoh Industries LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

These terms are an agreement between you and PicTrainer, which is run by Gotoh Industries LLC (Wyoming, USA). They cover the free app, and the website and plans for businesses that train their team with it. If you set up a team for a business, you agree to them for that business, and you confirm you’re allowed to.

1. What PicTrainer is

PicTrainer teaches people to take good photos of other people on their own iPhone, in short lessons. The app is free. A venue (a restaurant, bar, café or hotel) or a tour operator can make a team: its staff or guides join with a code, take the course with the team’s own best spots or photo stops and rules added, and the business sees who has trained on this website.

2. Who can use it

  • The app: anyone.
  • The website: owners and managers of a business, signing in with their work email. You keep your sign-in email to yourself and tell us if someone else may have used it.
  • Owners can invite managers and other owners, choose the plan and delete the team. Managers can see the team, remove people from it, and edit its spots or photo stops and rules. You’re responsible for who you invite.

3. The free app and packs

The app and its courses are free. Extra lesson packs are sold inside the app by Apple, under Apple’s terms, including Family Sharing and refunds, which Apple handles. While a business’s plan is active, the people on its team get every pack free for as long as they stay on the team.

4. Plans, trials and billing

  • Trial. A new team gets a free trial of the length shown when it’s created (30 days at launch). No card is needed to start. During the trial the team gets the course and its own content; packs unlock once a card is added.
  • Price. The prices are those on our pricing page when you subscribe: per location for a venue, and by team size for a tour operator. Taxes are added where they apply.
  • Tour operators’ team size. A tour operator’s plan covers a number of guides (for example “up to 40”). If your team grows past it, nobody is turned away: we’ll ask you to move up at your next renewal. You can move up at any time (charged pro rata); moving down takes effect at renewal. We never charge per person.
  • Renewal. Plans renew automatically each month or year until canceled. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over about two weeks and we email the owners. Everything keeps working meanwhile. If payment still fails after that, the plan ends: new people can’t join and the team goes back to the free lessons. Owners can reactivate it from the dashboard.
  • Canceling. Owners can cancel at any time from the dashboard. The plan runs to the end of the period already paid, then ends. We don’t refund time already paid for. Plans are sold only to businesses, so there is no cooling-off period; the free trial is the time to try PicTrainer.
  • After a plan ends. Owners can still sign in. The team’s data is kept for 90 days in case you come back, then deleted, with a warning email at least a week before.
  • Price changes. We’ll email owners at least 30 days before a new price applies to them; it applies from the next renewal after that.

5. Your team’s content

Your team’s name, best spots or photo stops, their photos, rules and welcome are yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them to the people on your team in the app, only for running PicTrainer for you. You confirm you have the right to upload them. Content must be about your place or your tours.

Photos of people are your responsibility. If photos of people reach PicTrainer for your business, whether you upload them or your team takes them for you, you are responsible for having every permission the law where you operate requires to take, keep and publish them, including the permission of the people in them. We store, show and delete them on your instructions, and we don’t check those permissions for you.

Staff and guides decide for themselves whether to join. What a team sees about them is their first name and the lessons they finish for work, as the privacy notice explains. The data processing terms apply to that information.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use PicTrainer to break the law or anyone’s rights; to harass, pressure or monitor people beyond their training; to upload anything harmful, hateful or sexual; to test, probe or overload the service; or to get around its limits or security. We may suspend a team that does, and tell its owners why.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep PicTrainer available and your data safe, but can’t promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change the service; if a change removes something you pay for, we’ll tell owners in advance, and you may cancel. If you send us feedback or ideas, from the app or by email, we may use them to improve PicTrainer, with no obligation to you.

8. Liability

PicTrainer is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to a business in any 12 months is limited to what it paid us in that time. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

9. Ending

You can stop using PicTrainer and delete your team at any time. Deleting a team ends its plan at once, without a refund for the rest of the period. We may end these terms for a team that seriously or repeatedly breaks them, after telling its owners. Sections 5 (for content already given), 8 and 10 survive the end.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and disputes go to its courts, unless the law where you live gives you rights that can’t be taken away.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll post the new version here with its date and email owners at least 30 days before a change that matters to them takes effect.
